Dave Ramsey and a Tea Party on Tax Day

My husband and I are in the middle of Dave Ramsey's financial planning course Financial Peace University (FPU). Dave's wealth of knowledge has been spot on with each lesson we cover. Watching this clip posted from www.generationcedar.blogspot.com, I was reminded that we do have a voice. Dave also has an event coming up being hosted by several venues...many in our town. If you are a Dave fan or interested check out www.townhallforhope.com to see where you can view this Town Hall Meeting.

Many people voted in the last election. Some for the President and some against. We don't have to rest in that division. We have the opportunity to speak out when choices are made in our interest and they are NOT in we the people's best interest. Many today are sending off their tax returns, concerned how to pay the taxes themselves. So speak up and let your voice be heard. Take a look at the next clip and be inspired to write your congressman or woman.

And tonight, drink a cup of tea and ponder what our fore fathers did, was it in vain?

Like Life? Well give it...

April is National Organ Donation Month. This especially strikes a cord with me as my nephew, Carter received his gift of life May 20, 2008 with a multivisceral transplant. This included a transplant of Carter's liver, spleen, stomach, intestines, pancreas, & part of his colon. I could go on and on about what this gift has meant to my family, but I think my brother and his wife tell it best. Take a look at his website at www.cartermcates.com. I warn you, you WILL fall in love with him, just look how cute he is!

My sister in law said it best when she wrote, 'God doesn't want your organs, only your soul. Please consider becoming an organ donor.'

If you think you are up to the challenge visit www.donatelife.net and get registered to save someone like Carter's life. I was reminded by a news story that many people have listed that they are a organ donor on their license. Because a license is rarely seen when immediate care is being given it is important to be registered, to guarantee your gift is given in time. In this season of Easter take the gift Jesus has given us to share in the gift of life!

Good Friday

Happy Easter! My mother in law sent me this obit(click on picture to enlarge and read) and it struck me in a very profound way. Jesus' death and resurrection is the cornerstone to my faith and this picture painted a very real picture of his sacrifice. I am so thankful he was not selfish, as I am. I am so thankful that he was courageous, unlike me. I am so thankful his love abounds, unlike mine. I plan to watch the Passion this weekend with my family. This isn't a choice we are making without much deliberation and prayer as we have a 7 and 9 year old. We feel confident we will be able to discern whether or not they will watch the movie entirely or the less graphic portions. More than anything I want my children to know the profound impact of this weekend's significance and the gift Jesus gave us all on the cross.
